Since the announcement that Ellen would be a new spokesperson for JCPenney, there's been an outpouring of support. There have also been a handful of critics. Ellen addressed them head-on in her monologue.

I missed this episode but I don't know what kind of "Moms" are in this group. My Mom raised us to be non judge mental and accept all people no matter what their color is, sexual preference, religion and so on - these mom's seem to be instilling the prejudice into their children instead of the values that all people are different and should be respected as such. I will continue to shop at Pennys - in fact maybe even more so now!

I have loved you Ellen for years, going way back to your stand up days and your first tv show. Love your show now, and what you stand for as a person. You show who you are everyday with your thoughtfullnes, your kindness, your humor. I see what you stand for. I belong to the over 20 million Canadians club. We have quite a few members who love you very much.

I am a male, hetero, happily married for 40+ years. Wife and I both enjoy Ellen's show because she is so positive in everything. Although we may not all agree on lifestyle choices, we can all probably agree that Ellen has made a POSITIVE impact on so many of us. J.C. Penney's made a great move because of Ellen's gleaming personality and total charm. We've shopped Penney's for a very long time (wife worked there in the early 70s) and we will continue to do so. Good job, Ellen!

I Love and admire you, Ellen. (Even your comedy has great "values" -- you never laugh AT someone, only with them. You are so uplifting and inspiring, loving, and FUN.) Way to go!

I think you are the best! I have "known" you since your first tv sitcom and thought you were fabulous. I support you in whatever you do and will shop even more at JC Penney's because you are there spokesperson. I love, love, love you(can't put enough "loves" in there....lol)I shared a page that showed that you were the new spokesperson for JCP and was ridiculed, I told them that they didn't have to like the same things I did and not feel the need to respond negatively towards my post as I do not theirs. I never heard another thing about it from them. Keep up the great job, love the talk show and you look as beautiful as ever...God Bless you and yours :)

I wish you could come to or Middle School here and talk about those Values.
I stand for those Values. It seems like not a lot of other people here in this area do anymore. I am trying to spread the word, but it is soooo difficult... I am out numbered. Great person Ellen. I wish there were more like you around. I gal could use some positivity in this neck of the wood. Life is Fun. Have at it...
Thanks for letting us who still have those kind of Values, know we are not alone.

Alrighty thennnnnnnn…..so when I read what this video was all about, I was gearing up with my virtual boxing gloves and give a piece of my mind of the whole issue, I'm usually better than most at respectfully telling someone off leaving them with not much choices for a comeback but I think Ellen did pretty darn good all by herself and basically told the haters that they made total hateful ridiculous fools of themselves…..lol, lol their own members agree. WAY TO GO ELLEN!!!!! I'm going to JC Penney today just to feel like I did so for Ellen, Portia and all gay and lesbian people who love, care and support the person they choose to live their life with the same way I choose to love, care and support my husband. YOU GO ELLEN!!!!!! and I'LL GO TO JC PENNEY!!!!!! :) (If I spend too much, I can just blame it on you!!!! Lol, funny thing is that I think my husband would be ok with that excuse bc he knows that I love you, your show, your strength and your ability to make us all laugh like no one else but you can….THANK YOU FOR THAT!!!! :)
