Ellen how can we donate to this amazing school? I am from the Metro-Detroit area, though I never lived in Detroit I would love to send money to keep teachers and this school's choir at the level they are at, and beyond!

Hi Ellen:
I never miss a show and have watched you from when you are your sitcom, you were and still are an inspiration and very uplifting person.
I am writing this letter to you as I am a senior 63 my husband is 64 his name is Paul. Paul was an alcoholic and a drug user but gave it up around l5 years ago and we really thought this was a new beginning until our l9 year old son Jordan was killed by a drunk driver in the Summer of 02, the world stopped for both my husband and I but we have managed to pick up the pieces not so much move on because there is not a day goes by we do not think of our only child and what he mean't to us and how much he was loved. Two years ago we moved to Edmonton, Alberta to Glencoe, Alberta to retire we go a beautiful little miniature fox terror which we named Mee-Too his named game from when Jordan our son was young he would always say Mommy, Daddy and me too so thus our little pooches name Mee-Too. We moved to Ontario to be closer to my family and then my mother had a stomach ache one day and she went into the hospital where they found out it was a rupture of a bowel, the went to into operate that very day and the next day my beautiful mother, my best friend was dead. I miss my mom each and every day she was someone I could turn to for anything, like I was with my son. Then if this story is not sad enough March 13th my husband Paul was diagnosed with Stage 3 Lung Cancer and it was in his lymph nodes as well, as you can imagine we are both in shock, he is till working as his treatment has not begun yet, he drives a school bus driver for the little town we live in, but he had his last test today and then will have the surgery to find out what they will do with the cancer. Truly I cannot believe our luck it just seems that we cannot get a break, we are on a fixed income and now we will probably loose the only house we have owned because of the expenses we are going to pay out.

I not going to cry any longer, I am going to stay strong and positive, but it is so hard to know if I loose him he will be the only thing I have left as my "family" is of no help whatsoever (long story) I just writing to you to see if you can help us out in any way possible. I don't usually ask for help but I need it big time, but I also understand you get so many requests that mine is just one of many and understand if you cannot help us help. We will never stop being your fans as you make us laugh, especially when you laugh at something that is funny to you, your laugh is very contagious and in times like this laughing is the best medicine.

Sincerely,
Carol-Ann Wodehouse

Hi Ellen, firstly I want to say how great your show is, it brings a smile to my face every time I watch The Ellen show. I want to talk to you about my amazing partner Kieran, from the moment we met I knew he was the one for me. I love him so much and he means the world to me. He is unfortunately not well at the moment. He suffers from severe headaches, vomiting and vision problems( just to name a few) due to Increased Intracranial Pressure. He has a shunt in his brain which drains the fluid , however this has become blocked. Kieran was gay bashed when he was 18 and was in a coma for 2 weeks, he nearly died. 10 years later Kieran was getting severe headaches, collapsing and having seizures. He had his first brain operation in Dec 2012 to put in his shunt to drain the fluid in his brain, which firstly included Intracranial pressure monitoring ( basically a wire sticking out of his brain to measure his pressure). In July 2013 he had more Intracranial pressure monitoring and more brain surgery. So it's now less than 18 months and 4 brain surgeries later and he is not getting any better. Kieran wants a second opinion on what to do next and a great Neurosurgeon who specialises in VP shunts and Intracranial pressure. Kieran means the absolute world to me and I can't imagine my life without him. What has happened to him is from an horrific attack and no one deserves to live their life in pain with no quality of life. Please help us get an answer Ellen. Kind regards, Patrick

The choir was amazing and very uplifting. To stand there and sing, while some are homeless and some struggling just to stay alive... What you did for them and many others needing some help, you have rallied many organizations to join in giving back. You have the biggest "HEART" I have in awww for your struggle and long road you traveled and because of that It has made you the person you are today.

Hi Ellen,
Firstly, I just adore you and find your show to be like a breath a fresh air. One can obviously see the kind soul you are.

I am writing to you in regards to someone very dear to me. Her name is Thelma Nathanson. She has been in my life since I was three years of age. My mother and Thelma were the best of friends and spoke everyday until my mothers passing in 2007.

My parents divorced when I was six years old and my mother became the soul provider for three young girls. Mom worked very hard and did so without question. What a remarkable woman!!
We were on welfare and food stamps and when she was in need of a little extra help, Thelma would always come to the rescue. We were never without.

Fifteen years ago, my mothers health started to deteriorate due to diabetes. She lost her vision for the most part (Only able to see figures) and then her kidneys started to fail. She needed to have dialysis three times a week. In addition, her heart was not in the best of shape.

Thelma purchased her a big screen TV and a very comfy reclining chair. She would also send her money to help pay her bills as well as many other wonderful gifts.

For three years, mom was in and out of the hospital. Thelma then decided to move her into a beautiful assisted living facility. My mother absolutely loved it there. She had such a great social life and became quite popular with the others.

One evening, I received a call from my sister saying that mom was on her way to the hospital and was most likely not going to make it. She called me again when she arrived and put the phone to my mother's ear so I can say good-bye. I thanked her for all the unconditional love she had given me and how I found her to be the most incredible human being I had ever known. Linda was with her until her very last breath.
I immediately called Thelma to tell her the news. She was beside herself to say the least. I then got on a plane and flew down to Miami. Linda and I went to the funeral home to make all the arrangements. As we were sitting in the office, my phone rang. It was Thelma. She asked to speak to the gentleman in charge. Next thing I knew, she was giving him her credit card number to pay for the entire burial. Wow!!

Since then, Thelma has become much like a mother to me. We speak often and when I recently celebrated my 50th birthday party, she flew down to Florida and stayed with me for close to a week. I enjoyed every moment. One of the best times in my life.

Being that Mother's day is just around the corner, I would love to do something very special for her.
I want the everyone to know what a beautiful and compassionate gift God has given to this world. An Angel!!

Many thanks.

All the best,
Robin
