I would like to nominate a wonderful lady in Vancouver, Washington who only takes sick and injured puppies, kittens and older animals. She nurses them back to health in her home (and foster homes) and adopts them out when they are ready. She only works with the animals that others would normally put down.
I do not know Amanda personally but have been following her on FaceBook for a long time. She is always in need of donations and many who follow her on FB try to donate regularly.
She just recently took in a puppy who was born with hip issues that made his rear legs not work. That situation also pulled his back out of alignment. He was unable to walk much when he arrived about 10 days ago. He had surgery a couple of days later to remove his rear legs and now Duncan Lou Who is running and playing like a normal puppy. He is an adorable puppy, without rear legs. Many of her rescues, like Duncan need wheelchairs or other adaptive equipment.

I got interested in her over a year ago when she took in a puppy from California who was beaten almost to death by his owners. He had to have his front legs removed because they were so badly damaged. Just last week London's prior owners were found guilty of their crime. She stuck with London, nursed him to health and he now has a loving forever home. Read about London on his FB page:
Roll On London
Thanks for considering this rescue, she takes them in from all over the west, her special needs rescue reaches far and wide.
