I watch your show every day and marvel at your generosity, your kindness and your wonderful humor. I've wanted to email you for a very long time just to tell you that! So, here I am happy to share that with you, and now sharing with you our troubles from New York.
I thought when my husband and I reached our golden years we would be financially sound and able to help others as you do, but our lives didn't quite go as we planned. In 2010 I collapsed with seizures, was hospitalized for 10 days and at that time lost my short term memory. 3 years have passed and by the grace of God was able to retreive most of those memories. The kicker is that I am now on Social Security Disability for the rest of my life. We had been doing ok until my husband got laid off on my birthday November 8th );.
Ive been calling everyone we owe money to to explain and most are very sympathtic, but of course we still owe.
I know you have heard so many sob stories and I am so sorry I just couldn't tell you how much I admire you and not have to share with you my woes. I will forever be grateful just knowing there are people out there that really care. Ellen, you are my angel because when you say at the end of your show, "be kind to one another", I just want to hug you!! Happy Birthday Ellen. Thanks so much for just being YOU!
