I am writing you, not for myself; although I would love a renovation, but instead for my sister, who needs a renovation. She is a single mother with 4 grandchildren living in her very small cape code home in the inner city of Columbus, Ohio. She has always been a hard worker, but for reasons I have not been able to understand, it's like the harder she works, the worse things become in her home and personal life. I am really most concerned about the condition of the home. As I said earlier, it's a small house, which was fine when it was just her and her 2 children, but with 4 growing boys, the grandchildren; need I say more, it's just not large enough. The home has a basement, however, it is not suitable as a living space. The basement is cold and damp, I believe when it rains she literally has standing water, which of course leads to mold. It is just troubling to know that someone you know and love lives in these conditions without much hope of change. I am further troubled to have recently learned that she has an electrical issue with wiring in the basement and stairway to the basement. She is ashamed of the condition that her home has fallen into, but is helpless to do anything about it at this time. Ellen, you do a lot of nice things for people all over the country, so I hope you will find a way to help my sister make her home a home she can relax in again. She is looking more and more stressed and drained by the cir***stances in which she is living, this cannot be good for her health over a long period of time. Please help her if you are able to do so.
May God continue to Bless you Ellen.
