||I became a Peace Corps Volunteer at the age of 70. I served in South Africa for 27 months. I received the Franklin H. Williams Award for Outstanding community service in 2008. I volunteer at the library, reading to young children on Saturday mornings. They call us grandpals. I also tutor young children and I volunteer with St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care visiting nursing homes, relieving family members to go out and knitting or crocheting lap blankets or shawls for nursing homes. I also substitute teach grades k-5 in the elementary schools in West Orange.
