Hey Ellen,I am a big fan of your show and all that you do because you make people laugh and feel good, which is something that everyone needs. I have been wanting to write you for a while because I immediately thought of you when it came to my mother and her obsession with Bruno Mars. I didn't even know if or when you would have him back on your show, and I realize that he is going to be on this Tuesday, which is probably too late now..but I want to share with you anyways my story. My mom has been sick for a few years with something that doctors may have finally figured out how to help her with, but it has been a slow recovery and it has taken a toll on her physically and mentally. She told me about the last time you had Bruno Mars on your show and how sweet he was to a girl who wanted him to go to prom with her. She then preceded to tell me that she never went to prom which was basically her way of saying that she wished she was that girl on your show that day! I thought it would be fun for her to meet Bruno Mars or at least get to see him at your show. She listens to his music everyday now in the car ride to and from work instead of KYW news radio 1060.... My step-dad, Bill bought her tickets for her birthday to see Bruno in Philadelphia and after the concert I woke up to her drinking her coffee in the morning with a Bruno Mars t-shirt on and a huge smile on her face (something I haven't seen in a while since she hardly ever feels good). I have never seen that side of my mom and I love it...she is like a little kid! I finally got on your website to write you tonight because my mom just came in my room to tell me she was staying up to watch Bruno Mars perform at the VMAs (she usually goes to bed at 7)! Even if it is too late for me to get tickets to your show, I just wanted to share this story with you and getting my mom to meet Bruno Mars is on the bucket list of things I would like to do, especially for my mother who does everything for me and has an incredible heart and strength.
I apologize for the length of this "comment"!
Thank you for all that you do in making society a little better every day, making it possible for people to get along and just dance, laugh and have a good time.
