I am a nurse at a hospital here in Olympia, WA and about two years ago became close friends with another RN there. She was recently married to her new husband around that time and was having the usual marital challenges. One day she said that she wanted to foster to adopt. At the time I thought it wasn't a good idea, because I felt like she needed to spend more time with her husband and adding more challenges may not serve them at this time. Well less then two weeks later they were approved and even faster got a call that there were two twin baby girls at the hospital. I was amazed how fast this was and once I met them I understood how this was meant to be. The girls are almost 6 months old now and thriving. Will all of the health challenges and birth mother issues these two foster parents are doing great. I am so proud of their courage and dedication to these beautiful girls. Next year, if all goes well they get to adopt them officially. It is hard to raise children and even harder to raise two with a choice. She is exhausted and working full time at the hospital. We all try to help out as much as possible, but it would be nice if you could talk to her and hear her story first hand. It's pretty awesome.
