About Me I was born in Cuba. My family and I escaped from Cuba in 1961. There were 23 people in a 24 foot boat. No motor, No rudder, and came strictly by sail! CRAZY!! I've been married for 38 years and have two wonderful children. Tony is 32 and Alicia is 26. Tony lives in Chicago and Alicia lives in Denver.:( I miss them so much especially her because she is so far away. I have many wonderful friends of which there are 6 of us and we call ourselves the 6 Pac! We get together once per month and we try to take an annual trip. This year we only went and spent the night and one of our houses because one of our husband is ill so she couldn't go too far. We decided to just have a slumber party. Just give us drinks and time together and we just enjoy life. This year we are all turning 60. Well 3 of us are. The other 3 will be 60 in 2014. We've been friends since I was 14. That's when I moved to MI. The others have been friends since they were real little girls. We are so blessed to have each other. People tell us that all the time. Well I could go on and on but I'll stop for now. Regards Connie

Hi Ellen,
I record your show every day so I can watch it when I get home from work. I was able to watch the show today where you featured Ry'Shonda and her beautiful family. What an amazing lady. She has done such a wonderful job with her children. I don't normally comment on shows or anything else for that matter, but this one tugged at my heart and it just brought me to tears. You too are an amazing person. So thoughtful to do this for them. I am so happy that I started to record your show. It inspires me so much. My family struggled a lot when we came from Cuba and we too had a "Ghost Angel". A beautiful couple helped us so much and I can relate to this story because of the help that we got. Thank you for all that you do Ellen. You are an inspiration to all of us. Watching your show makes me want to be a better person.
