About Me I am 71 years young, and retired from civil service. I worked for the USMC for close to 27 years, 19 of those in Okinawa, Japan. I have two living children, and one son who passed away from AIDS in 1992. I have one granddaughter who lives with her parents in Pflugerville, TX. I live in Sun City Center, FL (God's waiting room) and keep myself busy singing with my Sweet Adelines chorus, the Toast of Tampa, volunteering at the Tampa airport USO, and belonging to the Women's Club. I watch Ellen almost every day, and when I do miss a show, I catch up by using the web site. I love Cat Week and have two rescued strays that keep me busy: Miss Joan Blondell (Blondie) and Misty Blue Eyes (Mit-tee). Thank you Ellen for all you do for other people. I usually keep a box of kleenex near my chair because the stories are so meaningful and make my eyes leak. Take care, Anne

Hi Ellen. I enjoy your show very much and want to make a suggestion regarding music. I live in Florida and sing with a Sweet Adeline chorus called the Toast of Tampa Show Chorus. I think it would be wonderful if you would at some point feature some very good a capella/barbershop type music on your show. You always have such great music and this is a wonderful art form. So, I can't imagine you paying to bring 100 women from Florida for your show, so am suggesting another award-winning chorus that is just down the road from you. Their name is the Harborlites Show Chorus, based in Anaheim and their web site is They are a wonderful chorus and would really do you proud. I hate to recommend another chorus to you other than mine, but the reality is they would be easier to bring to your studio than the Toast of Tampa. If you would like more information regarding the Sweet Adeline organization, their web site is Our international competition will happen next week in Denver, CO, and then in 2013 in Honolulu, HI. Thank you so much and I will be watching you for many years, I hope.

Take care,
Anne Rankin
