I wish for a transcript of the show. Madonna made a very wise remark about not liking her own remark...how she dreamed it could be better. I can't find it anywhere. I wanted to show it to my teacher. Is there a way to get a transcript of the show?

I am looking for the quote you mentioned. I would like to see that quote and other favorite quotes that guide you.

Hi, I love Ellen and the show.....she is so kind, generous and up-lifting. Ellen read an inspiring passage Madonna sent her when she was "coming out", and she said it would be on the website, but I can't find it. I think the author's name was Martha Brahm, or something similar. Could you please share this information with me? I am a social worker, and feel it would inspire my clients to love and accept themselves, and reveal their true self to others.
Thanks,
Sandy Taylor, BSW, RSW

Ellen, you are inspiring and amazing, and I am so grateful for you.

In case anyone is interested, I looked up the full quote. Here it is:

There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all of time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and it will be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is nor how valuable nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep yourself open and aware to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. ... No artist is pleased. [There is] no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer divine dissatisfaction, a blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive than the others. As quoted in The Life and Work of Martha Graham (1991) by Agnes de Mille, p. 264, ISBN 0-394-55643-7.

Hello!
I watched today's show featuring Madonna, it was great! I was just wondering about the quote that you read, that Madonna had sent to you some years ago. You mentioned that the full quote would be posted to your site, but I cant find it. From what you read aloud, I was really inspired, and feel it is one of those subjects that should be shared with all of my loved ones! :) I look forward to hearing back from you!
I will most definitely continue to watch your show, and tell others how fantastic it is!!

Thanks,
Cassandra

As a club jock for nearly 20 years Madonna was one of the artists, like Michael Jackson, Donna Summer and very few others that drove DJ's crazy. Between playing Madonna requests for several times a night for more than 10 years she was expensive. Replacing copy after copy of her records because of too many cue marks, scratches and way too much gunk from tobacco and alcohol on her records it was a constant chore to trek to a record store and buy another copy of Holiday, Burning Up, Luck Star, Vogue, etc. But seriously a chore I and most DJ's did with a big smile. Love it when the two of you are chatting and having fun on your show and Madonna - keep gving us music!!!!

Saw her in Pittsburgh. She didn't come out until 10:30 pm. Was to start at 8 pm but knew she started late because of her appearance on Ellen, but THAT LATE? REALLY! She obviously disrespects her fans, many of whom left between 11pm and Midnight that Tuesday night. Then she stopped her show to do a 20 minute Happy Dance for Obama's re-election. Not the place or time for that! AND she didn't do many of her oldies that made her famous in the 80's. It was 30 years since she came to Pittsburgh. I'll stick to watching her on Ellen!

Oh what I'd give to see Madonna. I've never seen her in person. I've idolized her since the 1980's.
Madonna and I share the same Birthday (Aug. 16th) and I sing just like her (I love to sing her Hanky Panky song at bars). I was chosen twice to sing (with a live orchestra) on a cruise and dress up like Madonna.
Please, please, please, if you haven't taped this show yet for Madonna, pick me for standby tickets or the rif raf room, or somewhere close by so I can see her. It would be a dream come true.
