Zendaya's first major role, as Rocky Blue in Disney Channel’s hit show “Shake It Up,” gave her the jump start to venture into other avenues of the industry. After the show ended in 2013, she emerged in the entertainment world as a fashion icon at just 19 years old! That same year, she became the youngest contestant to compete on “Dancing with the Stars,” placing 2nd with partner Val Chmerkovskiy.
Zendaya released her first book, “Between U and Me: How to Rock Your Tween Years with Style and Confidence,” in August 2013, and released her debut album, "Zendaya," the following month. She stopped by the show in 2013 to perform the album’s lead single, “Replay.” In 2015, she began her role as K.C. Cooper in another hit Disney show, "K.C. Undercover." In January 2016, Zendaya becamed the newest CoverGirl, and the following month she released her song “Something New,” featuring Chris Brown. In March, Michelle Obama announced Zendaya as one of the featured artists on the track “This Is for My Girls,” alongside Kelly Clarkson, Janelle Monae, and Missy Elliott.
