One Direction burst onto the music scene when they were contestants on "X Factor UK" in 2010. The five members -- Niall, Zayn, Liam, Harry and Louis -- are from various parts of the UK and Ireland. They ended up finishing third in the competition, but their career was only just beginning. After mentoring them on the show, Simon Cowell decided to sign One Direction to his label. One Direction's first single "What Makes You Beautiful" had the most pre-orders of any single in Sony's history.
The boys of One Direction have become some of the biggest heartthrobs of a generation and find thousands of screaming fans waiting for them wherever they go. Ellen, I am a huge fangirl and I LOVE One Direction. They have been my idols since the X-Factor, and since then, I have wanted to meet them. They are having a concert in my city, but I couldn't even get tickets to that. The other day, I started crying (which lasted for an hour) because all I could think about was how I would never meet One Direction. It may seem cheesy, but they are my idols because they followed their dreams. I love them with all my heart and their songs are the best! It would literally fulfill (part of) my life goal if I got to meet them. I am SUPER desperate and you don't know how blessed I would be if I met them. I would have no way of thanking you other than fangirling. I know you probably get comments like this every singly day, but I know I'm different. Whenever I listen to their songs, I feel a special connection to them and that will never change. Ellen, I am 16 years old and i live in New Orleans. I love One Direction, unfortunately they aren't coming to New Orleans on their tour. All I want is to meet them. I would do basically anything i could think of. If you can make any of this come true for me, i don't even know what i would do. It would mean the world to me. Whether you do or not, i'll always love your show and i'll still watch in every single day!

I love one direction so much and it would mean so much to me if I got to see them in the flesh! They are so beautiful and inspirational, I don't even know where I would be if it wasn't for them. Last year my dad died from lung cancer and I'm still really upset. But when I was at my worst all I did was listen to one direction and that put a smile on my face like that. I love them so much, I know every fan says that. But please. Consider it. I'm there biggest fan! x :)

You are like the amazingest person out there :) You are very sweet. Right now my family is very poor and we dont even have a car! we have to walk everywhere we go. and my mother has a small tumor in her neck and a hernia on her stomach. My father has been looking fora job for year but never found one. My brother was bullied and we sent him to wisconsin to live with my aunt. I currently live in arizona. Hey Ellen!!!!I love your show even though I'm really young.I'm 12 and my parents would be really mad at me for writing this to you.I love One Direction and so does my really close friend.She's about 3 years younger than me.People would think I was weird for hanging out with a 9 year old,but I don't care.It would be the best thing ever if you let me have One Direction tickets.One Direction is my favorite band and the're really inspirational.They make me feel beautiful for 3 minutes and 27 second.:DI know you're probably not gonna read this,but it's worth a shot.
