James Blunt was born in an army hospital in Tidworth, England. He spent his early childhood living in England, Cyprus, and Germany, where his father, a colonel in the British Army Air Corps, was posted at various times. His family has a long history of military service, which of led James to sign-up for four years in the Army. He ended up doing six; in Canada, Kosovo, and then London.
He was spotted playing at the South by Southwest Music Festival and was immediately signed. He has sold over 20 million albums worldwide. His huge hit, “You’re Beautiful,” became the first British song to top the American charts since Elton John’s “Candle in the Wind” in 1997. The single received three Grammy nominations and was certified 2x platinum on 3/4/08.
"Moon Landing" is James' 4th studio album and his first new album in three years. He performed the single from that record, "Bonfire Heart," on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in November 2013.
