Gloriana
At the 2009 American Music Awards, Gloriana surprised the audience when they beat Lady Gaga for the Breakthrough Artist of the Year. On top of that, they were the bestselling new country act in 2009.
In 2007, brothers Tom and Mike Gossin moved to Nashville from North Carolina. They had previously been performing together, but in Nashville they met Rachel Reinert and Cheyenne Kimball, and together formed the group Gloriana. After just a few months of working together, they sent a demo to Emblem Music Group and were immediately signed. After a year of work, they released their self-titled debut album in 2009 and sold 44,000 copies in the first week!
