A few weeks ago, an unsuspecting dad was reunited with his family for a Father’s Day surprise he never saw coming.

Marc Grimard, a cleaner for the city transit system in Saskatchewan, Canada, had been separated from his wife Angela and son Joel for three and a half months, as the little boy has a congenital heart problem and was staying in the Ronald McDonald House in Edmonton. The two cities are over 300 miles apart, and the family did not have the finances to travel back and forth for visits.

WestJet partnered with the foundation and employed over 30 “accomplices” to bring the Grimards together for a special occasion. Someone was trained someone to fill in for Grimard at work, flights were booked for the father and his elder son, and the two showed up at the children’s hospital that evening to surprise Joel and Angela in their room.

The rest, you’ll have to see for yourself…

If you’re in need of more Father’s Day awesomeness, we also loved watching this deserving dad receive a gift his son promised when he was 8 years old!

Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads out there!

I wrote this song two years ago for my father and recorded it, and it never gets old. The lyrics mean a lot to me and you could play the song to your father too and wish him a Happy Fathers day!
