Detroit Academy of Arts & Sciences

DAAS is a charter school located in downtown Detroit. Eighty percent of its students are at the poverty line, and 98% qualify for free or reduced lunch. Despite these challenges at home, DAAS strives to provide its students with a safe and inspiring environment. The CEO, Maurice Morton, is very involved with the school and students. He recently helped a student’s mother get a job in the medical field so that they were no longer homeless. Find out more about this great CEO and school, here.

There is no excuse not to have Arts and Science in all American schools. Kids are happy and accomplished more when they have Arts to look forward to. America's schools are a shame and most of our students are getting cheated a good and meaningful education..
