Lindsey Z. from Hampton, New Hampshire sent in this photo of her cat, Griffin, and his new brother, William! These two have a long life together ahead of them. Perhaps it will involve a diet for Griffin. See more of Ellen's best pet photos here!

Can you Help us?
Michel & Michelle Cat Rescue
Women Helping Women Helping the Defenseless
To whom it may concern,
I would like to make a brief statement on our mission to save the lives of twenty precious cats pictured on this video forwarded to you.
My girlfriend Judy and I were working and dealing with daily problems most of us all cope with, when a friend from childhood shared her dire situation with Judy. Both ladies grew up together in a somewhat “normal” and financially safe environment. They spent summer vacations together and shared childhood aspirations for a grown up life.
However, one grown up life took a complicated turn perhaps a long time in the making. Judy’s friend ended up in a second marriage which was bottomless and futile. Both husband and wife suffered physical injuries, (husband being a disabled veteran) which impeded getting employment and subsequently left them broke. Judy’s childhood friend started rescuing cats perhaps as a fulfillment she craved but could not afford. She tried to take good care but without resources it grew to be catastrophic. Some cats were neutered, some were not and with no vehicle to get to free clinics, they multiplied.
In conclusion, eviction ensued and pending removal of beloved animals by authorities was emanate. As crazy as it may seem, my friend financed a car ride from Texas in the dead of night in a Dodge Colt! Twenty cats hunkered down, ages ranging from 10 months to 5 years. Miraculously, they made it to California without stopping to sleep due to nowhere to lodge cats. Her ex-husband helped with the great escape on a wing and a prayer. The cats were placed freely in the vehicle because it was too small to accommodate enough crates. No one escaped even at numerous gas stops, as if they knew they were in trusted hands.
Cats found refuge in a California 300 sq. ft. backyard house where they are doing well but need forever homes. We are on a very low budget but have a determination to place all of them despite various vets and rescue groups discouraging us. We are of the mindset, when the will is strong good things happen.
We know this is a shot in the dark, but we are exploring all possibilities. We admire Ellen and know she cares about animals. We need some notice so we can raise funds and expose our adorable cats. (Of course, all animals have the face of an Angel!)
