Ellen
I'm not one to ask for help, but since I'm the only one that believes that you may be able to help me, I am going to ask you myself.
I was diagnosed in May with a cancer called Leiomayosarcoma (LMS)in May of this year. I have a plum sized tumor in my left leg just above my knee. The tumor is attached to two muscles and goes around my main artery and vein in my leg. The cancer has also spread to my lungs. Since the tumor is in my left leg and I have a stick shift car and need to be able to push the clutch to shift. When pushing the clutch it causes me too much pain to drive anywhere.
I have a kind neighbor who takes me to all of my appointments and shopping. He is 69 and works 40-50 hours a week and then needs to deal with where I need to be taken. He uses vacation time to take me to my chemo and Dr appts. I would like to not be a burden to him and let him be able to see his wife, who is in a nursing home, and be able to enjoy his off time not running me around
I have reached out previously to our local Fox station asking for donations and it's been a week since it aired and there have been no donations made to the dealership who stepped up to try to help me. Here's the link to my segment that was aired.
http://fox17online.com/2013/11/08/former-fox-17-pay-it-fo...
I basically spend all my days housebound because I can't drive the car I have. I am on disability and can't afford a car payment or the insurance for it too. It would be a blessing to be able to do my own errands and get out of the house on my good days and my Dr appointments.
I pray that you can find in in your heart to help me for I don't know how long I have. The only Dr that has given me any idea how long said maybe 2 years. Please make days worth getting out of bed again.
Love and Hugs
Kathy

My daughter is single has 3 children, ages 2,4 and 10. She found a job and at the present I have to drive 23 miles to pick her up take her to work and another 23 back to my job and 23 back to pick her up and take her home (she lives with her deceased fathers mom) then I drive back home another 23 miles. I am doing whatever it takes to help her out so she doesn't loose her job. She graduated high school has an asociate degree in criminal justice but now she works at Graceland. Until she has dependable transportation she had to take the closet job she could get. I was very ill last year and almost died, I had an esophagus tear, it was horrible, I was visiting my sister in Baton Rouge, La. I live in West Memphis, AR. Ended up having to stay at my sisters for 10 months, went through several major surgeries, 2 stents in my esophagus, MRSA twice, 10 chest tubes, feeding tube, drainage tubes. But I am well and alive and able to help my daughter for I had to start all over at the age of 55, lost my home, car and job. I got a used car, new job and living with a wonderful friend she has help me alot. I just want to be able to help my daughter she has had a rough time and trying so hard to do whats right for her and her children. God is good and I know something will happen to help her. I get up every morning at 5:45 am and watch your show before work and I see all the wonderful things you do for so many people. Love ya

Hay Ellen I am writing to you about my mother, she is a single parent of three as long has I can remember she has always put us first. My mom used to get up an hour early just to catch the bus and walk the rest of the way to work and still had to wait an hour to clock in because of the bus times she would say it's better to be an hour early than ten minutes late. She also would work on her days off and holidays, even if she was sick or in pain she would go. One time she work 12 days straight 10 hours a day until they hired someone else. My mom had her appendix taken out and went back to work a week later her work send her home because they can see the pain she was in, that's the kind of person my mom is people would tell her why does she work like that when she is sick or in pain and she would say I have three kids to raise. She even got employee of the month. You can asked anyone who knows my mom how hard she works for us. When my little brother had his band concert she jumped of the bus and ran the rest of the way to his school and jump the fence so she would not miss his concert it would have been easier to walk around the school but she was afraid she would miss him and I got to let you know my mom is forty years old who still hops a fence or wall if she has to! So when she finally bought a bike for her self and us they were stolen in front of kmart. So when taxes came around she bought her self a used car, that need a transmission that took her three months to get. Window his held up by a wire and a door handle that is open by a wire and looks like a kite handle. It also blows out smoke from the engine and muffler. It's not in her name because she does not have the money to transfer into her name. It's just falling apart and I know she worries about it breaking down any minute and not for herself but how she would get us to school. You see my mom has to drive to three different schools a day. My mom has the biggest heart If my friends need some where to sleep or food she would give it to them. So not only does my mom do for us she also does for others. One time she pushed an old mans car that stop in the road and no one else helped him but my mom or bag someone else's groceries. She is forever doing for us and others. I need to tell you about this one lady who was getting drag across the street by her hair and no one got out of their car to help her and my mom had to be that person she told my aunt to pop open the trunk of the car and grab the crowbar and demanded the man to let her go and he did. So if you can do this for her she would be so happy specially coming from you! Thanks for listing to my story about my mother.

My daughter really needs a car so she can get to work. She has to have her job. There is no public transportation in her small town. Her pick up truck has 230,000 on it and right now does not have a heater or air conditioner in it. She does not have the $500.00 or $60...0.00 to get it fixed. The high here today was 32 degrees. Today I am concerned if she got to work this morning. She has tried hanging her head out the window but it frosts over inside very quickly. She has to cross over a railroad track twice and of course pull into traffic. We live over two hours from her. We are retired and live on a fixed income. Her daughter just moved seven hours away from her. Her daughter has six children. Becky always saw the children several times a week and is just lost. I took her to see them a while back but can't do this as much as Becky needs to see them. On the other hand my grand daughter does not have a car. Her husband takes their pick up truck to work and he leaves at 5:00 am. and her children will have to walk about 1/4 of a mile this winter. Twenty degrees below zero there is normal. She cannot leave six children alone to take her husband. They range from two years of age to 11 years old. This would mean leaving them at home alone for about 40 minutes. Ellen if you could help one of them it would be wonderful. Concerned mother, grand mother, and great nana.

I don't know their names but I see them at my daughter's bus stop in the am. They were in a hit and run a few days ago and don't have insurance. The had an old early 90's car and its covered with a tarp now. They are a young married couple with 3 boys under 6... they live at the Heather Court apartments here in parkland washington. It was heart breaking to see the damage to the care and lack of hope that he had for any resolution..:(

Dear Ellen,

I know someone that would appreciate you're car giveaway, his name is Arthur Boulton. He is one of my eleven grandchildren. My husband passed away may 23 2012 of cancer and he had a 2001 chev truck which I knew I would get very little for if I sold it. I had just moved into my daughters basement apartment in her home and it needed new flooring and it needed a kitchen and Arthur who is 17 did all the work to finish it which saved me so much money and I could not pay him because I am on a fixed income so I gave him the truck, he tried to fix the truck whenever he had a chance to. It got to a point where he would get really frustrated when he couldn't fix it. One night when he went home to his dad's it was raining and slippery so when he went to make a turn the truck fishtailed and he got in an accident and the truck was totaled. He was like a guardian angel for me. if he could get this new car I would appreciate with all my heart. I watch you're show every day and I think you are the most wonderful person in the world. ( Car or no car I will watch you're show forever)

Love always,

Hi Ellen,
I think my girlfriend really deserves this car. Her name is Christina, she is the oldest of seven children. Christina wanted to desperately to go to college. So she started at ORU, she incurred so much debt that she decided to leave school to work and to save money. She now has two jobs and with them, was able to purchase a motorcycle. Consequently, just last week she was hit by a car who did not see her, pulled right in front of her bike sending her 20 feet before hitting the ground while totaling her motorcycle. Luckily, she escaped with minor injuries. Due to the price she can only afford another motorcycle. I hate to see her purchase another motorcycle after this event.

Christina is a very hard worker and is transferring to Austin Community College for work and to start school again, where the tuition is cheaper. It would be safer for her to drive around Austin in a car. Thank you very much for considering her for your car.

Thanks,
Trent Langley

Hello Ellen.
I would like for you to choose my daughter Sabrina, She is 22 years old and a single mother of a 4 year old, she is trying to go to college and make something of her self, she just bought a used '03 Ford Focus in August, she is making payments on it still. The Fuel Pump sensor is messing up on it, and today the transmission started going. She is living on a low monthly income. She has only made 3 payments, She has been trying to find a job but now she has no way of transportation. She always puts everyone before herself and I would love for this to be a way to show her my appreciation.

Hello Ellen, I am writing to you in hopes that you will pick my mother for the car giveaway. Ever since in 2002 when she was hit almost head on while driving her new car, being only that she had it for 6months was totaled. She was taking me and my new born back to the hospital for the baby's 48 hrs shot. When we were just driving along and a car of 3 young men drove right at us, thank god we seen them and swerved off the rode, but not before they hit us, totaling my mom's new car. Oh and the other driver had NO insurance. Because of the accident my mom's car insurance went up and she was not able to get another new car. She has been through 2 used ones and this last one just died. It has many mechanical problems and is very old. We were advised it is not worth getting fixed. So, she now has no car. My sisters and I try to help out as much as possible, but none of us can afford to buy her a car at this time. My mom is a 6 year breast cancer survivor. She is an amazing woman. She would give a stranger her last $5.00 if they needed it. Her health isn't the best, she has CHF and is a diabetic. That doesn't stop her. She lives in a fixed income apartment,on disability and spends a lot of her extra money of medication. However, none of this stops her from helping out others in her apartment building. She volunteers to take others that can't drive to their doctor appointments, grocery shopping and errands for them. She has always done this for others out of the kindness from her heart. It saddens her right now cause without a car, she is unable to help others. She also, helps watch her grandchildren and always have without anything in return. We are struggling now getting her to and from her own doctor appointments because my sisters and I all work. If you picked my mother for the car giveaway, you would make a 74 year old lady the happiest person on earth. please believe me, when I say my mother is so deserving of this car. I truly thank you Ellen for reading my submission. Joy Krown, Valparaiso, Indiana

Dear Ellen
I'm writing to tell you about my great sister Elisha. She is a great women, sister, wife of a soldier, and mother of 3!
Her car is in sad shape!! She started driving it in high school and continues to "drive" it now in her 30's; married and 3 kids later. 12 1/2 years. No doubt I admire her dedication!
This poor thing (the car) has lost just about everything. The sunroof leaks, the battery needs jumped when the weather gets cold, heat and AC work at random, the floors are torn up and everything is just warn down to nothing. The kids are packed in tight of course in the small back seat.
I worry about her, with 3 kids under the age of 4, being out somewhere and having to ask a stranger for help or stranded somewhere in the cold.
The car is of course paid for and they cannot afford to make a car payment! A new car would be such a great relieve for her and for me!
Lish loves your show she records it so that in the little quit time she has she can watch. You make her laugh! You make me laugh! For that I am grateful!
Please consider my sister for a new car. Thank you Ellen

Ellen, I've watched your show for years! Love it, you make me laugh every day! My best friend is very much in need of a new car! Her name is Janine. Janine and her family struggle every single day. Janine and her husband have two children, Kayla is 17 and Kevin is 12. Kayla was born with sever ulcerative colitis. Janine has to take her every month to Children's Hospital Boston to receive Remicade infussions. She never knows if her car will make it back and fourth. To add to the stress, her husband had a heart attack in her car with her and her kids in it. He died in the car but fortunately was revived at the hospital. But because of the time it took to get to the hospital he has suffered some brain damage and is now disabled. So the stress of it all falls on my friends shoulders. A new car would relieve a LOT of that stress. She has had to change appointments for Kayla because they would go to leave and the car wouldn't start. She has also gotten stuck at the hospital because again, the car wouldn't start. The windows and ac do not work so they would pry the windows down and pray for no rain....which of course has happened so then they are driving around in the pouring rain with the windows down. Please please help my friend!

Thank you,
Donna Morse

Dear Ellen,
I watch your show and respect what you do for people. I feel my brother and his partner deserve a new car. They have a 13 week old baby and work very hard to provide the very best for her. My brother works as a brick layer working long hours including weekends and my sister in-law is just returning to work part-time for the extra cash. We all live together in New Zealand and we rent a lovely family home. My brother is fortunate to drive a works truck for work but the family car has seen better days. It's quite small too which can be awkward to fit us all in whether we go for a family day trip or if we all go to do the weekly food shop. It's an old car and there are becoming faults with it but they tend to make do to be able to provide a better life for their daughter. Please help Ellen I love to see people smiling and this would be amazing for them. Thanks for reading my story.

Dear Ellen,
I enjoy watching your show (I love the way you dance). I am 68yoa and live in a senior citizen complex. I have always had my own transportation until 5 months ago when the transmission went out on my car. My car has close to 200,000 miles and I was told by the mechanic the transmission was just the beginning of my problems. Please consider me in your car give away and help this granny with transporting her neighbors back and forth to the local grocery store.

Thank you
