Adoptable Pets of the Week

All cats at the Best Friends Animal Society Adoption Center in Mission Hills, California are just $9 to adopt throughout the month of June during Best Friends national “9 Lives for $9” adoption promotion! Each cat is spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and ready to go to their new homes immediately.

Xela is a striking black and white kitty girl with an adorable “apple” head and bewitching gold eyes. A volunteer favorite, Xela is a real lover who likes to snuggle with people and other cats. Just over a year old, Xela is mellow yet frisky, and enjoys a good nap as well as playtime with her people. This low-maintenance sweetheart is ready for her new home. Would that be yours?

Scrappy Thor was once a street fighter, but he’s learning how to be more social. Just three years old, Thor needs a patient owner who will give him the space and time to blossom. Thor has FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus), but people cannot catch this misunderstood disease and it cannot be easily transmitted to other cats. As an indoor cat, Thor can lead a long, healthy life, and Best Friends offers a resource article of FAQs about FIV here. Thor is raring to go, and this “man’s man” of a cat will make a fun feline for the right person.

The staff has fallen in love with Minx, a two-year-old tabby with a heart of gold. Minx isn’t just a pretty face, she’s very affectionate with people and loves to snuggle! She’s currently living in a free-roam room with other cats, and gets along great with everyone she meets. Minx will fit well into just about any home and promises to make you smile every day!

Do you like the quiet type? Jasmine is your girl. A little shy at first, Jasmine warms up quickly and will soon be purring in your ear (when she’s not trying to sit in your lap). While she loves people, Jasmine is not so fond of other cats, so she’ll need to be your one and only feline. Jasmine would do best in a calm environment, where she can flourish and truly become your new best friend.
