Shame on Robin Thicke and anyone else that degrades women and calls it art.

I CANNOT believe you have this song on your show and website. Women are raped and beaten everyday. Why? Because our society is a rape culture. It accepts women being called "animals" to try and "domesticate". We're not farm animals or pets. Being called this is saying women are "lesser". Change the power structure from man on woman to straight on gay (or white on black/asian/Arab) Would you allow someone to say gays are animals? And domesticate? That's like turning gays straight. *****, animal, slut, ho..all sexist slurs. Do you allow anti-gay slurs on your show? I'm sure gay men have heard (while being beaten for being gay) "I have something so big it''ll tear your a** in two." Yes, that's a lyric from "Blurred Lines." Or, "I know you want it" (it being his attacker's d**k in his mouth because he is gay) when really, no, no he doesn't. Neither do women. No means no. Really, if he's not hearing yes, then it's rape. It's a horrible, horrible song. And the video objectifies women, which dehumanizes women, which leads to rape and violence against women. As does dehumanizing gays. I just cannot believe you, Jimmy Fallon, The Today Show, GMA all promoted this song. I was absolutely disgusted when I first READ the lyrics. My husband thought I was nuts, and then he read the lyrics. Stand up to the music industry now and apologize to women for allowing such denigration on your show.

Why, Ellen, why are you encouraging the objectification of women, and the pervading rape culture?????? THIS IS A HORRIBLE SONG AND VIDEO. Look, look what Robin Thicke has to say about this song:

"Thicke responded: "We tried to do everything that was taboo. Bestiality, drug injections, and everything that is completely derogatory towards women. Because all three of us are happily married with children, we were like, 'We're the perfect guys to make fun of this.' People say, 'Hey, do you think this is degrading to women?' I'm like, 'Of course it is. What a pleasure it is to degrade a woman. I've never gotten to do that before. I've always respected women."

let me start off to say, you are one AWESOME human being! You make me smile! Have you ever done a show on people that have met on a date site and fell in love? I am one of these people that have found true love on a date site. The only problem that we have is that he is in North Carolina and I am in South Carolina. I am 42 with 2 daughters (11 and 14) and he is 46 with 3 daughters (22, 21 and 16). We are wanting to move him to South Carolina to move in with me, but he of course will need a job so he can continue to take of his child support and so forth and help with bills. I can not live with out this man, I know he will be good to me and my daughters. I'm not one to ask for help, especially being a single mother. This would be an answered prayer! Thank you for reading....R.Skinner

Hi Ellen (or whoever is lucky enough to be the one who gets to read her emails :)) I'll make this short and sweet..I was at the show yesterday..CHRISTMAS IN MAY! And now that I'm finally out of shock, I had to write a simple and heartfelt THANK YOU!! My friend and I were just excited to have the tickets to your show and the experience of coming to a taping (and an afternoon with no kids..ssshhh)We had so much fun dancing and just watching how your whole production works..a fine tuned machine! Anyway, THANK YOU...when you mentioned the 12 days of giveaways I peed my pants just a little in anticipation of what you were just about to announce, and the jumping up and down in excitement (unfortunately thats what happens after having 2 kids :()but again, I digress...so once you started with the yoga clothes, then the blender, carmel, mini ipad..YIKES! I just felt so overwhelmed with gratitude..Its one things to watch you give away the stuff on tv, but to actually EXPERIENCE it is a whole other thing! So with a full heart and sincere gratitude for doing what you do, and being exactly who you are, I THANK YOU FOR THIS AMAZING EXPERIENCE! You rock..

Dear Ellen,
I have been watching your show for years with enjoyment. You brighten up everyone's day. It is so neat the way you help people's lives monetarily and socially. I sometimes catch myself wishing I could be them. I am 65 years old retired with a modest income and needing help with my home. I have a different proposal for you. Instead of you just giving me needed money, you would instead loan it to me. I need to replace my furnace, air conditioner, water heater and water softener. Not to mention our water is so hard I also need to add an inline conditioner. In all I need around 10,000. dollars to do this. I know that is a lot of money and I am not asking for a hand out. but a loan. I would pay you back at the rate of 150.00 a month till paid off including interest. I wish I could get my own loan but I have a situation where my ex wife never refinance a home and it shows up on my credit report. That has been almost 5 years ago. I am not begging, just frustrated.I pray to God every day but I know he is much more busier with more pressing matters. Please help, as I do not know what else to do.
With much love, Ralph Anderson
