"You cannot do a kindness too soon, for you never know how soon it will be too late."
-- Ralph Waldo Emerson

I posted this on the wrong page but today's quote is perfect for my comment.

I recently retired from teaching preschool children with specials needs. Each child made a tag board cookie jar to hold their kindness cookies. Most days during snack time, I would ask each child if they had done something kind that day. When we started the year, it was difficult for the children to state a kind act so I would point out something I had seen or heard. I would write down what they had done and put it in their cookie jar. As time went by, the children were able to state their own kind acts. Even better, they began pointing out kind acts their friends had done. This pleased me so much!

As Emerson said, "You cannot do a kindness too soon," as these preschoolers so beautifully demonstrated. Our classroom was a safe place to live, laugh and learn. By the end of the school year, each child had an overflowing cookie jar to take home and share with their families.

This was a wonderful way to teach the abstract concept of kindness. Thank you for spreading love and kindness.

Ellen the "grace" you receive every time you help out a family is my favorite part of your show. My eyes well up every time no matter what the cir***stances, it makes me feel so grateful and warm inside. Today I took the time to look at you, really look at you during the surprise giving and your eyes were welled up! How blessed and self aware you are.

That is absolutely true. Do what you can today because tomorrow isn't promised, "Love and you shall be loved" Before it's too late, live life to the fullest without any regrets. No act of kindness, however small or big, is ever wasted. Being kind is the most beautiful thing.

Hi Ellen,

I am really amazed by your show every single day its like a relaxing time to watch your tv show...I am a worker here in Canada, in a fastfood with just limited option as what the work permit allows, with my only son left with his father back home, its sad to be by yourself. I was expecting both of them to be here last year but the Immigration did approved their papers. I am supporting the rest of my family back home so I never get a chance to visit my country. Anyhow I am always wishing to be one of uour audience in the show it will be great time I will treasure especially in your episode that your announcing a show in Australia and taking an audience with you. I never lose my hope that one day your show will come in Calgary and I will be one of your audience. Thank you for enlightening always my day Ellen even if I feel life is too hard and challenging each day.
