Bike in the tree...we HAD one as well. We hung it in a 60' tree after a bunch of us bikers took bets on who could throw the rope in the tree. My uncle Ron (CHILD) won,30+ feet. The bike hung there for a couple of year's w/many many people stopping & asking why it was hanging there. The answer was "because we could". Any way on a beautiful summer day, no clouds & sunny, all of a sudden we heard this huge crack like thunder. It wasn't, it was the tree cracking in half & it came down across the yard & drive way right on top of my 1950 2-door slant back Plymouth. You want to talk about crying, yeah I did. Thank God I hadn't started restoring it yet. Needless to say I have spent $27,000+ restoring this car as it was left to me from my Daddy before he passed. The bike is still sitting on the stump about 8' in the air just for memories. If you read this & would like you to see pics, I'd be more than happy to show them to you. They are pretty awesome. The tree smashed the trunk & completely covered the car w/debris as well as our '51 Chevy truck. When people came to see about what happened to the bike's damage, there was none. We have 8 antique Harley's & a 1941 Indian. People like your mother thought we were doing things 'not' quite Kosher. I am laughing my ass off due to people's stupidity, don't you. Down to earth people always seem to be condemned, ya think. I wish you the best that life can give, I do. Sincerely, Jill Rae
P.S. If you would like to call me & chat on a normal basis please do. (315) 524-2257 I live @ 7000 Furnace Rd. in Ontario, NY (come & see the bike & the restored Plymouth, it's absolutely beautiful). Take a deep breath....relax
