I had the most wonderful birthday. I can’t believe all of the birthday messages I received on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and the presents and cards that you sent in. Thank you.

Here’s another way I wanna say thank you. I’m giving away trips to Australia! Carly, a viewer from Sydney, had a great time in America, and now I’m itching to send someone to Sydney or Melbourne! Enter here, and it could be you!

I like celebrating getting older. Every day I get older, and a little bit wiser. Mostly because Portia got me a Word-A-Day calendar. Today’s word is “indubitably.”

Indubitably, you’ve heard about this week on my show. I’m celebrating two very exciting things: Portia’s 40th birthday and the Super Bowl! I’ve gotta make sure I’ve got enough face paint and beer helmets. Also, I should probably get stuff for the Super Bowl.

The host of “American Idol” and my good friend Ryan Seacrest is gonna be here, too. I want to hear what he has to say about this season of “Idol.”

One of my favorite people is here this week -- Sean Hayes. He’s one of those people who makes me laugh so hard, I get to skip my ab workout at the gym. I can’t wait to see him.

I’m also talking to a front-runner for an Academy Award -- Sally Field! She played Abraham Lincoln’s wife in “Lincoln.” The whole movie was incredible… and talk about a surprise ending!

Plus, Catherine Zeta-Jones is here! She’s always been my favorite of the Zeta-Joneses. She’s in an exciting new movie called “Side Effects” with Jude Law and Channing Tatum, and I can’t wait to talk to her about it.

All that, plus Chris Tucker, Nicholas Hoult, and the return of my Sports Desk!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and I’ll see you Monday!

Indubitably,

Glad you had a wonderful birthday Ellen. If you are going to New Orleans for the Super Bowl go see my niece she a kick! A transplanted California girl, she's a waitress at the St. Charles Tavern her name is Benia Mangini. The family Aunt got tickets to the Super Bowl but it was too costly for the rest of us to see your beautiful city. Have a great time there, hope you get to go...

I would love to go to Australia. My great grandfatherX3 was a convict and later became the superintendent of the convicts in Parramatta.I now live in Texas, having emigrated from South Africa. I never met my Grand father Harry Hutchinson Roberts ,who was born in Australia and came to South Africa, married my grandmother and was killed in a shooting accident in 1905. He died just after my father was born.

You are an intelligent woman who is not afraid to speak out on issues of inequality. I have written to yo before but he more I think about it the madder I get. My partner and I have been together 20+ years and have 3 children and 4grandchildren, one that lives with us. We are both well educated and has decent salaries. I was diagnosed with a chronic and terminal disease in 2007 and we lost all that we had put away for retirement. We couldn't even make the house payment. When I went to local programs they would only allow me to to use my self as a dependent. They did not accept he children as mine or Faye as my partner. We need to speak out about this issue. Gay couples with children are seen as single with no children. Every time I have to check that "single" box and no children I become angrier. When I die my social security won't go to Faye because we are single according to the law. Now we are having to sell the house that we hoped to retire in because we can't afford it and I can no longer navigate the stairs. I could go on and on because throughout this ordeal we have faced so much inequality. You ave friends in high places, like President Obama, If you would send him this information to bring to light an issue that needs to be rectified for all same sex couples throughout the country! Thanks Ellen, keep on keeping on.
Peace,
Mary gotcher
