Hi Ellen, first of all I want to say thank you for all that you have done for so many people in need, you are truly a loving a caring soul, and God bless Tony too, for all he has done. You guys are amazing. We are from Bakersfield, CA and our daughter moved to Long Island New York 3 1/2 years ago, to start a new life. Her life was ****tered when hurricane Sandy hit, loosing everything. Cell phone service was down, and we were not able to her from her for days, didn't know if she was okay. She was able to sleep at a friend's home, but just wanted to go back to her own home, her own bed, but it was all gone. We know she didn't want to worry us beings her father has recently been through 3 surgeries for cancer, and I being disabled due to spinal problems. When she was able to contact us she would say she was fine. Well, we soon found out she had lost everything, thankfully though she wasn't physically hurt. We just want to see her and be able to hug her, but that has not been possible, due to finances and health issues. We had applied for tickets to your show in January, (for a mother & daughter trip), but we haven't heard if we got the tickets, and also this was back before the hurricane. So I'm not sure if we could make it or not. I know there are a lot of other people in much worse conditions, and they need to come first, but it would mean the world to us to be able to be with our daughter.
Please tell Tony how proud of him I am for his volunteering. I am working in a multi agency warehouse in Central Islip accepting donations for the survivors, where we sort, accept orders from VOAD members and ship product to be distributed. We are all volunteers, invited by FEMA to manage the warehouse. Our deployment began November 28th and ends December 28th. On Saturday we were at JFK to meet a young woman who flew from Honolulu with 5 boxes of donated items from her nephew's second grade class. We have been working 7 days a week, some days more than 10 hours. I accepted the invitation to work knowing I would not be home for Christmas because I have a home, my home has heat and my home has electricity, and it will be there when I return. Saturday we drove through the Far Rockaway area, and it is still so sad to see. People still stand in line just for a warm meal. Countless houses need mucking out and repair. Until you actually are in the middle of it you can not fathom the enormity of it. I was about to enter the 12 days sweepstakes when I saw the link for Tony's video clip. I'm not going to enter now, too many people have nothing and I have so much.

OMG! I wish my daughter and I would of seen Tony. So, so glad he was in Roxbury helping out. We live in Breezy Point but missed him.
We are so busy cleaning up ourselves and helping others. Its amazing how people come together in time of need. We had wonderful friends take us in during this crazy time in our lives and just have no words to thank them!! Can you give a shout out to Jen and Anthony Pagano for letting us stay in their home till we were able to move into our temporary place.
Dont forget Breezy Point Ellen. Its such a beautiful place to be.

My father runs the Humane Society in Atlantic County NJ (In Atlantic City) Instead of leaving the city, he stayed to ensure the safety of all of the Animals at the shelter. He spent a harrowing night pumping rising floodwater out of the shelter. Afterword the outpouring of support was overwhelming, and all during the next few weeks not only did My father and the staff work thier butts off to restore the shelter they gave out pet food to those in need! It is people like My father, his staff, the many many volunteers AND YOU that makes this world a beautiful place. THANK YOU
