They are creepy little things, but mostly harmless. However I did get pinched by one once, when it crawled under my leg without my knowledge. On the other hand, my grandfather had a cricket crawl into his ear while he slept, and he nearly went insane before they could get it out, as it was chirping right near his eardrum!

I hate to actually be admitting this and Taylor Swift, please dont read, but when I was 4 years old (im now 26) I had an earwig in my ear!! I grew up in the country and earwing were quite common to see. One night I was sleeping and woke up yelling for my parents saying there was something in my ear. They looked and couldn't see anything and told me to go back to bed. But I kept yelling so they came in a second time and sure enough, this time an earwing actually crawled out of my ear!! Thank GOD I don't remember this because Id probably be scared for life, but they sure as hell never let me live it down. AHH!
