Being a born and raised New Jerseyan I MUST point out the so-called "New Jersey accent" is NOT from New Jersey! The voice inflection and pronunciation used by Annette Bening on your show today are native to New York City (mainly Staten Island and Brooklyn) NOT the Garden State. Because of media hype for "Jersey Shore" and "The Sopranos" many New Jerseyans who travel are told they couldn't "be from Jersey" because they absolutely do not sound like Snookie! Frankly most New Jersey residents do not have a "Jersey accent" at all and if you had to guess would be hard pressed to pin down from where they hail. Concerning "Jersey Shore" the cast are "carpetbaggers" from New York and Philadelphia. True New Jerseyans know the "real" New Jersey shore is below Exit 4.
Annette Bening has been married to one of Hollywood’s greatest playboy for 20 years; she really should get a gold medal for that accomplishment!!!!!
