Ellen had Kobe Bryant's superfan in the audience, who got the surprise of a lifetime on the show.

Hi Ellen, Recently while watching your show I heard you say your Mom had fallen and broken her back. I was so sorry to hear that for one reason the same thing happened to me, although my fall was probally a little different than her's. I am an International flight Attendant and during decent into India we hit clear air turbulance, I hit the ceiling then slammed to the floor, fracturing four vertebrates, so how it happened is nither here nor there. Iam like your Mom am a very active woman and have had several hard bumps and bruises, never has anything set me back like this has. The pain is horrible and the fact that you have to depend on other people is so very humbleing. I too like your Mother have a very wonderful daughter who has been there for every dr. visit, grocery visit, she's there to pick up all the stupid things I drop, as you say"got my back' as I'am sure you do for your Mother. The whole reason for this letter is to say to your Mom my prayers go out to her, I pray that she'll have a painless and speedy recovery, I'am sure its hard to see your Mom like that. God bless you both, hugs are the best medicine.

I an Elson Irwin, producer/founder of Seniors On Stage, a troupe of talented seniors (55-909) in Hemet CA where we have produced live shows for the past 13 years (15 years before that in La Jolla CA. We would like to extend an invitation for Ellen's mother to join us for our upcoming "Hollywood Canteen Show," a production featuring the music of the early and middle 40's. Such songs as "Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree," " I Remember You," "I'll Be Seeeing You," "Say A Prayer for the Boys Over There," "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy," and many more. The show, written and produced by myself is a salute to older performers everywhere. We play to full houses at Seven Hills Playhouse in Hemet. We are good, really good but we have not gained the recognition outside the Riverside County area. Our shows are beautifully costumed. It's all volunteer. Nobody gets paid. There are about 35 members of the troupe who sing dance and tell great stories. Our next show is Oct. 25 and Ocr 27th at Seven Hills Playhouse in Hemet. My number is 951 652-3149 we have a website: just Google Seniors On Stage - Hemet CA. Take a peek and see if we are worthy iof your attention. We would love to have Ellen's mom make an appearance at the Hollywood Canteen.
