Dear Ellen,
My name is Paula and I work at a Basile High School in Basile Louisiana we are low poverty school. Our Band Director Mr. Darrel Lejeune has been a great teacher and director for over 30 years and the new school year 2013-14 the Basile High School band is the only band in Louisiana that will be performing with the other bands for the half time show at the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans. We are all working hard to get donation to help this trip be possible for a once in a life time chance for our band members who never would be able to go. There are a lot of young kids from different back grounds and work very hard to try make this possible and our teachers and staff are great people that make our school succeed. So I would like to know if you could take the time to send us a donation to help our kids go to the sugar bowl in New Orleans.

Dear Ellen,
There is a teacher, Mrs Jenna Blue that truly brightens my day. I work with girl scouts and she helps children with a mentor program, saving supplies in the event the child may not have basic necessities such as soap, deoderent, etc. I take what little money I have and make sure those girls know good character and that no matter where you are from, you can make it. Jenna works her heart out getting sponsers, trying to take the kids on fields trips because its a low to no income area. I have hair and personal hygiene classes to show the girls some things they may not learn. Mrs jenna hands down is the best teacher/ guidance counselor in NC. please pick her... she deserves it... thanks Ellen!!!!

I love that JCP is showing support for "Teach for America!!!!" My 23 year old sister is currently a "TFA" teacher in Mississippi, and she was 22 and just out of college too. So this topic is close to my sister's heart and now mine and the rest of our family. Those children are not just coming from broken homes or parents who work multiple jobs, but also areas of low poverty levels, or areas where schools are just struggling to stay open, and many other situations. The children at my sister's school and even the other TFA teachers have so much positive spirit within them to improve their area schools, but not many know what TFA is all about. I'm so glad Ellen gave this teacher and the Teach For America organization a little time in the spot light! Thank You Ellen and JCP!

I see you show almost every day and have seen amazing give aways but, seen this young teacher so devoted to her students made me cry. Our kids don't take for granted everuthing they have. That they come from school and dinner is ready. That we can go shopping for good brands and that they have parents to put them in bed and make sure they are safe. This kids come from broken families or parents with multiples jobs. Great learning lesson for my kids. Thanks
