Dear Ellen it always warms my heart when i hear of people loving and carring for animals...this past Thursday September 13 my cat Perja was acting weird her head shaking side to side and could not stand up or walk. My wife Barb and I took her to the vet right away and he explained to us that Perja had a stroke and it is very common in cats...so we took Perja home but she kept getting worst so Barb made the decision and called the vet to have Perja put down..it was the hardest thing i've ever had to do...Perja was given to me from a wonderful lady that wanted the cat to have a loving home. Perja was 2 1/2 when she was given to me and that was in January of 07.I haven't been in contact with the woman since the summer of 07 so i'm not sure if i should tell her about Perja...I really feel like I let this woman down, but I know in my heart that i Loved Perja (aka Pretty Girl) with all of my heart and soul and I know the previous owner did as well..It really sucks to have to put a pet down...she was my Pretty Girl..<3 <3 <3

I have been following Missy/Lucky's story since day one and then on FaceBook at The brothers of Lucky Rescue https://www.facebook.com/TBOLRescue

These folks give me hope in humans and are wonderful people! All we want is for Missy/Lucky to go to a loving home and be cared for as she SHOULD be.

Thank you Ellen and thank you my Brothers! (Hi John and Stefan!) ;-)

BTW Ellen, Stefan has incredible skill at writing!

I hope that the other people - those who searched for Missy (aka Lucky) the previous night and those who turned back so as not to hinder what was to be the successful rescue are given credit.

It's a heartwarming story - I caught up with it a few days after it happened and after wading through all 544 posts, I filtered out all the posts from people who weren't involved in the rescue in my post here, so that it makes for quicker and easier reading -
