Ellen loved this dancer she saw during a commercial break, and thought you would, too. Enjoy!

I was watching your show and you said if we knew anyone who needed help, to let you know. I immediately thought of the sister of one of my friends, and a devastating trial they are going through. They were in a terrible wreck in New York. My friends sister, Tanya was killed immediately. Tanya's daughter who is the mother of the 7 children that were in the car with them, was in ICU with terrible injuries for days. Her 12 year old son and 14 daughter are still on life support. The 12 year old has some brain injury, and the doctor told them that there are 206 bones in the human body, and the 14 year old broke 207 bones....in other words, she's in terrible shape. Anyway, as you can imagine, they are being buried in medical bills. I would LOVE to see them get some help. My friends grandchildren have even had a lemonade/cookie stand sale last week, to help earn some money. It's a VERY desperate situation and I would appreciate any help you could give this family that has been thrown in to such a totally exhausting and devastating situation. They still haven't had the funeral for my friends sister (Tanya Hodson) because her daughter is due any day with a baby, and her dad wants her to be able to attend the funeral. Anyway, there is so much sadness and I would love to see them get a little sunshine in the middle of such devastation. There is a website where you can go to read the article about the accident, and those involved. It was a HUGE wreck in New York. This is the website: http://www.youcaring.com/medical-fundraiser/hodson-car-cr...

Thank you in advance, for anything you can do. Please feel free to contact me if you have any other questions. 435-770-9658

Hi..Just read the letter from Mrs. Smith in Baton Rouge La.. God bless them and I wish I could help. But something struck me strange. Why in the world would you keep 15 cats and dogs if you are in such dire straights? I had one golden retriever and I know the expense. God bless you for wanting to help and take care of animals in need. But I would think my daily bills to survive would take precedence over feeding 15 cats and dogs. I dont mean for this letter to come off as harsh at all. I have been and am still going through some really rough times also, but I just think some things should be brought to light.God Bless you and I hope everything will work out for your family. Stay strong and laugh ALOT.....

Hi Ellen , I would like to tell you about my daughter. Her name is Kristi Smith and she is 24 years old. Her dad died at his age of 35 of a heart attack and her age of 5. She helped me raise her brother which was 19 months when Daddy died. She is a awesome young women. At the Age of 13 she was helping me handle my two handicapped parents. Kristi would change diapers. feed, bathe etc. We survived Hurrican Katrina in 2005 in which we lost a lot of our very sentimental items of her deceased dad.
We moved to Baton Rouge Louisiana in 2009 for a fresh start. Well it has been a very rocky road. We have been on welfare, unemployed, doing every possible job to keep us afloat. We managed to purchase a foreclosure home with no lights and no air conditioner in 95 degree weather in Louisiana. I have repaired the house and I am trying to sell it to make our house note lower. We are 2 months behind in our mortgage note of $1200. Our house is worth $129,000. I have recently received a reposession letter for my car. Kristi has recently wrecked her car that helps her get to work each day. Her boss spotted her $1500 to fix the car and is taking to money out of her check eack month. We have 11 cats and 4 dogs all rescues that we also take care of. I have 3 part time jobs. I have been looking for 3 years for a good full time job.
My daughter, Kristi is the most giving, helpful, loving, caring, dedicated person I know.
Even though we have been through so much difficult in the past 7 years, Kristi's attitude is that "as long as we have each other, we will be fine".
Ellen, it is so hard for me to watch your show at this time of the year because I am sad that I can't give my daughter a better life. Kristi is my best friend. We cry, we laugh, we cut up, we even finish each others sentences.
Ellen please help me give Kristi a Happy Birthday On Dec 20th and a Merry Christmas!
