Farewell to a Friend

On Saturday, March 17th, 2012, the Ellen Show lost a friend. Jodi Fisher was here earlier this year to share her inspiring story and outlook on battling cancer. She may have lost that battle, but her courage and her spirit have touched us all. We're sending love to her family and to everyone who was inspired by her strength. She will be missed.

I am so glad that I have had the opportunity to watch the Ellen show. I started watching this shoe in August of 2012 since I was on leave from work due to my cancer diagnosis and chemo. I have not missed a day since August other than the day I was getting my stem cell transplant in October. Thank you Ellen for being so inspiring and making me laugh with your shows. God Bless

Life is so precious and even those who may be struggling and facing times of downheartedness and the unknown touch so many lives. We do not know how blessed many are when they see the postiveness that comes from those facing "Their bend in the road." I happen to be an eleven year ovarian cancer survivor and my husband is a heart transplant receipent. We have faced our "Bends in the road," and only hope that those that face these hardships know that they make a difference in the the lives they touch. Surely, we are blessed by their strength to face lives challenges and to admire how they handle their frightful struggles with courage.

I just want to say that I was in a very dark place in my life when I saw Jodi's story on your show Ellen, and it made me look at things in a completely different way. To see her energy and light was so inspiring to me. In fact, I'm pursuing a whole new career because of this specific segment of your show. I figured, why do we have to wait to be in Jodi's position to live our lives to the fullest and pursue our dreams and desires?

I know that Jodi lost this battle but she lives in us with her message. So Thank you Jodi for pursuing your dreams and thank you Ellen for sharing her story!
