video: breast cancer awareness month wrap up

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Ellen has added some pink products to the Ellen Shop. A portion of all proceeds from these special edition items will be given to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation. Click here to get some for yourself!

Our friends at Michaels have been helping us raise money all month for Susan G. Komen by donating money for nearly every game we've played -- and $10,000 for every dunk! Today, the Chief Marketing Officer for Michaels, Paula Puleo, stopped by to give Ellen one final donation. Check it out!

My best friend from childhood, Adrea, not only survived breast cancer but she survived a triple negative breast cancer. Her "cocktail" treatment was so strong that she lost all of her finger nails and toe nails as well as all of her hair (which after four years has not grown back). She is from a family of 11 and had experienced many adversities prior to her breast cancer diagnosis but she is a poster child for surviving the worst of the worst and her attitude could not be more positive. She has been my special friend since I was four years old. What a blessing to have her and what a miracle that she survived this!

I had the privilage of watching you the other day with Kellie Pickler. This prompted me to write to you regarding my beautiful sister and myself. My sister has "Stage 4" breast cancer and is letting it run it's course. She has had this horrible disease three times now this last time it has matastisized. She is now on Hospice and living each day knowing that her time is short. I also have had breast cancer and have written a memoir detailing our experiences, thoughts and living with this horrible disease. My book is called "The Beast in My Breast" by Vivian Matthews and is advertised on Amazon. It would be a great honor if you would read my book and give my your thoughts. I would like people to get to know her and why she chose to take the last walk to Heaven. Thank you for all you do.

Respectfully..........Vivian Matthews
