Hello Ellen,

I was diagnoised with breast cancer in April 2012, I had to have a double masectomy in May and started Chemo in August. I have not only delt with cancer but I have had several infections and been in the hospital 6 times due to other complications.

I feel breast cancer awareness is so important and that self exams are so important, this is how I found my lump. I really didn't think that much of it, till I got the news on the phone and then I cried all evening in bed. ( that is when my life changed overnight!)

My husband has been there for everything, he hasn't missed a doctor's appointment yet and he has been there for me every step of this journey. We were married 30yrs in August and we have become closer then ever.

I just wanted to say that having this cancer has not only changed my life it has changed my famliy and friends too! We all don't take things for granted anymore and I try to stay positive but there are times that it can be hard for me..

Thanks for listening.
