About This Page

I'm so happy you're checking out this page! I've been trying to live a kinder, more compassionate life, and I've learned a lot of things along the way. It's not hard to do -- you just need to know how! There is so much that you can do -- from helping to stop bullying in schools, to having compassion for all living things.
I've listed a lot of information here that I think will be helpful. There are books and movies that are important, plus videos of interviews with inspiring people, and links to organizations doing wonderful things for people and animals across the country. And there are easy, healthy recipes which prove that being vegan doesn't mean you can't have delicious meals!
I personally chose to go vegan because I educated myself on animal cruelty. Suddenly, I realized that what was on my plate were living things, with feelings. And I just couldn't disconnect myself from it any longer. I read books like "Diet for a New America" and saw documentaries like "Earthlings" and "Meet your Meat," and it became an easy choice for me.
If you want to learn more about why and how you can do the same, I hope you'll check out my new page: Going Vegan with Ellen.
Take a look at the various reasons I chose to live a kinder, compassionate life. If you choose to educate yourself, it'll be an easy choice for you, too!

Dear Ellen, How does a person simply touch someone who seems to have so much and who does so much for others?? It is more than a wonderful feeling to watch you on your show Ellen.. You are real most of the time and your awesome sense of humor and compassion are deeply appreciated. There is not much like walking through the forest when the weather is dry, the pine trees reaching so high that you can hardly see the deep blue sky above, the smell in the air, the soft hollow pine ground beneath your feet, the whisper of the wind in the trees, the sound of each and every different bird and the fun and laughter experienced when watching chipmunks play..so adorable.. these special moments bring peace to my mind .. the same feeling I enjoy while watching you on your show!! Your choice in music is great and your guests are quite entertaining.. love your games too : ) .. Goofy .. funny .. but so much fun : ) Ok ,, Ellen ,, do something for me.. Accept hugs to you and yours Ellen.. and a pat on the back for all of your accomplishments in life..I think these comments are relevant to all of Ellen's blogs : )

Hello Ellen,
My name is Janice Pierce and I'm an Advocate for Pediatric Cancer. Everyday we lose seven children right here in the United States from cancer. Only one cent of every dollar raised goes to Pediatric research and our children are suffering so badly.
Many people are not aware of this and I was hoping you could help spread the word that our children need their support. Without more research money we will continue to lose more children.
Since January, thousands of us have been walking, running, cycling and doing exercise to raise awareness for Childhood Cancer on Facebook. On September 1, we plan to meet in Washington DC in hopes that President Obama will turn the White House GOLD for all the children who are suffering and for those have earned their angels wings.
It's time for Childhood Cancer to be recognized just as breast cancer is for us ladies since cancer is the number one killer for children now. Ellen, please help us get the word out and wear gold in September and support all the children who have cancer.
You can find us on Facebook on the following link:

Sincerely,
Janice Pierce

The Universe is everything.
If we close our eyes and imagine the universe, most of us will picture the nighttime sky with its limitless points of light. The universe, however, is more than that, much more. It is everything in our own world; our home, our work, our friends and relatives. It is everything we have ever seen, ever heard; everyone we have ever met; everything we have ever read, every song we have ever sung. It is all our thoughts, our ideas, our perceptions and even our dreams. It is all that exists around us and, more importantly, it is all that could exist.
While the most common definition of the universe involves stars and space, the most important definition to us as individuals involves everything else.

Ellen I have written you several times over the past few months and I have not received any answer in return. I am a man who is dying and I am not sure when that day will be. I really enjoy your show as I get to laugh quite a bit watching it. It s truly a very good show that you have going for you. I am not wealthy at all and I have given up trying to get my lung transplant because I am not able to raise the Funds for it. I was just wondering though if you might help my Mom of 72 years old get a RT ticket from Either Tupelo or Jackson Mississippi plus car fair to where I am at in Melbourne Florida in a Hospice. the address whee I am at is 4450 w. Eau Gallie Blvd. Suite 250 Melbourne Fl.32934 Their phone number is 321-751-6671. My Mom can be reached through my sister Shrarie Bass and Her number is 662-554-8585 I would just like to see my mom 1 more time before I do pass on, If you could help in this way I would remember you in my going away to see the man up stair for good and I promise I'll put in a word for you to him. Ellen, Today I watch you for the first time on an old you tube video. I've heard of you before but never watch you. The clip was when you gave a single mother and her three kids a most generous gift. I want you to know you have inspired me to do for others as well, though I'm not sure how I can do it yet. Once I figure it out,my nephew has a video camera, I'll send you a short video. Thanks for being the person you are and inspiring me to be better. Your new fan, Thomas

Ellen,
The sweetest lady could use your help. Leola better known as "Poppy" was filling her car with gas Saturday, April 27 when a man asked her for cash. Poppy said she didn't have any. Well he darted past her stole her car and her purse that was in the car with all her identity. Poppy has to wait for the insurance company to replace the car and the sad thing was she is moving. Poppy makes quilts and this winter she had made several and had all the money she had saved up and was going to take it to the bank so the guy got away with her cash also. I can provide a police report to verify all this and any help Ellen can give would be wonderful. Poppy has remained pleasant and said at least he did not not have a gun. She is one of the dearest ladies you'll ever meet and she planned to retire the end of May at 85 but is not sure she can afford to now because she'll need to save more for her move. Thanks! Teena
Hi Ellen!
The world would be a much better place if half the people were half as compassionate as you are! After crying, the second thing I did while watching this video is think of you, because I know you would be as touched as I was.
