Hi Ellen,I mainly watch you show through your youtube channel and obviously, I am a big fan. When I saw the "Win a car sweepstakes", I thought, "Hey, I can enter my name to win a car, as I don't have one!". Then I started reading through other people's comments and there are so many people who are really in a bad shape compared to me. They really can use a little bit of help through you and your show.

I am an international graduate student here in US. I am living away from my family, I have got no car with sizable amount of student loan. But, hey, I am gonna complete my Graduation at the end of next year and most hopefully, I will find a job to live a standard life. Not that much going on for me right now but I often forget about the fact that some people who are not in a good position will literally do anything to be in my shoes. I am grateful for everything that I have now.

Be happy and make people happy.

Happy Holidays

Hi Ellen, I am one of your many fans. I think you are very pretty and very, very funny!! Your kindness of what you do for people inspire me. I wish I could be as funny as you. My life changed drastically after the 9/11/01 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in NY. I worked 2 buildings behind the WTC. I could not believe what I was witnessing. When I got home, I thought about all the babies at the WTC daycare if they all got out safely, which they did. And my former boss. I took 2 weeks off, then went back to work and escorted by police officers to get to my building. I was informed that my former boss of over six years was killed in the towers. I was devastated. She had left the exchange about 8 months prior to September 11th and worked for E-Speed, a division of Cantor Fitzgerald. She was only 38, pretty and smart. I dream about her often. After two weeks, the police allowed us to walk around ground zero to get to my building, which was horrific and sickening! After 7 months, they had layoffs. A job I loved and thought I would retire with. I could not find employment, so I moved to NC. I was overwhelmed with the amount of interviews. It took me 16 months to find a job, which only lasted 5 1/2 months. Layoff again. Still kept going, but with all rejection letters. I got severely depressed, ended in a hospital for a month and a domestic violence shelter. 1st time 16 months and 2nd time 8 months. I received so much help with d/v classes and therapy. I learned a lot from the shelter and I am so grateful to them. I realized I was surrounded around abuse since childhood and no one should ever tolerate abuse. Who gets affected the most, the children and it's not fair what children have to go through! When I moved out in 2008, I started volunteering for the shelter in the office for over 4 years. Then I moved again, still volunteering and then the gas was getting too much for me. So they said they will start paying me when I work. I am only a fill-in, when office staff members want off. In 2009, I learned that my identity was stolen. When I received my credit reports, it looked like I did not exist. Like I needed that. Back & forth with letters for 4 years and still going on. They had me with different spellings of my last name, 3 different birthdays, 2 loans and an address in TX. They finally took off the address. I was so frustrated with all credit bureaus, I legally changed my name, completely. They made me look like I did not exist, so I changed my whole name. I am working today at the shelter and will be working on Dec. 25-27th. Not really much into the holiday season this year as my mom passed December 20th, 2012. Maybe someday I will write a book. I try so hard everyday to keep a smile on my face. I have 3 beautiful grandchildren that my daughter will not allow me to see. We been recently texting for the past month and she does allow my grandchildren to call me. I miss them so much! Well, I can use another car. I have a car, but I never had a new car in my life. I am poor with backing out, I'm only 4'8". 3 accidents backing out. I can go on and on, but I know you get a lot of mail. Wishing you a very merry Christmas and happy, healthy new year!

Hi Ellen, I watched your show today and I saw there was a car giveaway contest and I wanted to enter. I wanted to enter so I will be able to win my mother a car. She is getting old and still taking public transportation. I want her to feel safe and get around more. She need this car to drive me and her 6 grandchildren around to school and doctors appointment. It would mean everything to me if she won and to see her very happy.

Hi Ellen, I was directed here because I know someone who needs a new card. My BFF friend Pam (who won a car back in the 70's , but had to give it to her parents coz she was underage - an AMC Gremlin),will NOT give up on this stupid car of hers. It brakes down on her frequently , and she has had to summon my husband to her aide on more that one occasion. I don't understand her attachment to it, but she claims she cant afford a new one. I think it is a Delta 88 (from '88?), and I think one of her tail lights is taped on or something. She keeps pumping $$ into , instead of getting something safe. She has worked at a large Insurance co. for 30 some years, and they treat her badly. Where are the Undercover boss people? ( NOT on your side). Anyway, she was the one to turn me on to your show , for my daily laugh. She is very deserving , and winter in Ohio is upon us soon. Please consider her for your giveaway.

Thanks, Kim

Dear Ellen, My 69 yr. old friend Lynda Dent lives on her social security that does not reach. Her church has meals which helps and does get food from food pantry. She trys to make extra money taking elderly to Dr. appt. and shopping or pick up their meds. She has a son who is mentally challenced lives at a nursing home. She goes to take him to church and trys to see him once a week. She has bills for her hearing aids and a $9000 + credit card bill which she adds to when the car breaks down which is often. She needs a car she can depend on so she can make a little extra to pay her regular bills. We find things to help then goverment says she can only have one like her phone bill is back to $99 so she can have free cell phone so son can always reach her but now can't have the reduced phone bill or the hard of hearing phone. She also has had the food stamps taken from her like so many elderly here. She was given a new tv but that too has something wrong with it and needs to be sent to company for warranty to be honored. She can't afford to do that. She had a dental problem this year which I did help her with because credit card was to high, but I can't help with much I have bills and family that need my help. Through the years I have found people that know how to help her but now have run out of where to turn. So Ellen if you could help with a car for her it would be greatly appreciated. I watch your show and see you help so many please consider this lady. Marleen Witte
