While sharing her emotional story with Ellen, Chely Wright mentioned that when she was younger, she was searching for another gay person like herself, but she couldn't find anyone. For many gay people, it can be easy to feel alone, but the truth is that they are not. If you feel alone, the following organizations can help you:

the trevor project

The Trevor Project
The Trevor Project is the leading national organization focused on crisis and suicide prevention efforts among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth. They operate several programs including The Trevor Lifeline (the only nationwide suicide and crisis lifeline for LGBTQ youth) and TrevorSpace (an online social networking community for LGBTQ youth, their friends and allies).

matthew's place

Matthew's Place
Run by The Matthew Shepard Foundation, Matthew's Place helps LGBTQ people live, learn, engage and share. With a variety of resources including guides to coming out and information about local organizations, it is an invaluable place for LGBTQ people around the country.
