nyc proposalPhotographer Sherri Jackson was taking photos during the NYC Marathon when she snapped this photo of a beautiful moment between a runner and a spectator. She didn't find out until afterward that she had actually taken a picture of a marriage proposal! Sherri wants the two to have the photo, but doesn't know who they are. Ellen wants to help her out. If you know who these two people are, write in and tell us!

My life partner, Sheila Songster, and I have been looking for her birth family for a very long time with no success. We do have information, but very little of it. At first, Sheila just wanted to find her mother for the same reasons every adopted child wants to find their birth family, and she has no ill feelings about the adoption at all. Now we have ran into some health issues such as seziures, high blood pressure, kidney, and heart conditions. We could really use some family medical history. Sheila is 54 years old now. She does not know I am writing to you and asking for your help. My # is 757-635-5442. I really could use some help if you could but if not, no hard feelings. We will still love your show. Thanks in advance for your time.. sincerely, Carrie Wallace

This is so amazing. What a beautiful thing to come out of such a tragedy. If the photographer hasn't found the couple yet, perhaps they can submit this photo and story to the Boston Globe and they can help. Be kind to one another and Stay Strong Boston !!! Love to you Ellen and your show... Kate from Atlanta, Georgia.

This is such a beautiful moment and example of the good things modern technology allows us to capture :). (I am so appalled by the level of bullying that kids can do now bc of smart phones and the internet and how little they think of the results of their actions as they are able to keep themselves so separated from their actions when on a screen. Doing things face to face takes a different level of cruelty and then can be left behind, but touching a button is such a weak thing to do and the results now stick around forever... breaks my heart) Anyway, my bad, wanting to stay with the positive! :) This moment would have been missed... but even more is a moment I saw last night online about the man (officer I think) who saw a homeless guy on the street in NY with no shoes... he didn't feel it was right at all and walked into the store nearby, purchased winter boots to keep his feet warm and safe, came out and put the shoes on the mans feet himself!!! A tourist ended up catching it on camera :). I don't have the link right now but can find it, though I'm sure you guys can find it even faster with your skills. (I'm still new to more than e-mail lol). I actually have a video my good friends came to help me film about my parents before Thanksgiving, but I had to learn how to put it together and now have to figure out how to send it to you! haha... I hope it finds it's way and most of all hope you get to see it amongst the many that you get. I at least hope everyone gets a chance to see the beauty of the police officer and the shoes and it helps to show how everyone can help with a small action every day to make this world a better place. There is enough for everyone to be ok if we choose to give, share and help each other!!!!
